Bilingualism

Is my child's speech and language delayed because he/she is exposed to two languages?

Childres all over the world master more than one languae.  Children who have difficulty in oth languages should receive treatment.

Should we concentrate on one language at home?

The language a child speaks most frequently is known as the dominate language.  Children need practice speaking each language in order to be bilingual.  children with difficulty mastering one language may need to focus on the dominate language, or the chosen dominant language, in order to be successful in school.  A decision to use one or two languages requires cooperative agreement betwee parents and teachers. The decision should be based on an informed choice following evaluation of the child's skill level in both languages.
